Open Operations Manifesto
The Open Operations Manifesto sets out the key principles for sharing knowledge on building and operating infrastructure of all kinds by establishing a community of practice, thereby ensuring successful operation.
We proclaim our primary objectives to be transparency along with the sharing of knowledge and are in the process of building a community of practice – Open Operations.
Open Source technology has become increasingly mature. However, the greatest software is useless if it cannot be operated with full confidence. For this to happen, it is imperative that skills and knowledge be built up, fostered, and retained. In an increasingly competitive market for skilled people and increasingly complex IT systems, this is becoming an ever greater challenge for governments, institutions, and companies. How can we operate digital offerings in a self-determined, secure, and supremely excellent manner?

Why should one read manifestos?
Manifestos express the convictions, goals and intentions of their authors. Since authors usually have extensive experience in their field, they provide a good opportunity to engage with new and perhaps different ideas.
They are therefore an opportunity to reflect on one’s own views, regardless of whether one agrees with their point of view or not.
